Umbrella Liability insurance, or Excessive Coverage insurance, is a policy that helps cover you when your primary liability policy limit has been reached. An Umbrella insurance policy can be beneficial for companies with many assets that aren’t fully covered by a primary liability insurance policy.
Umbrella Liability is useful in situations where primary liability doesn’t cover all your assets’ value or for unexpected events that max out your primary liability coverage. Coverage from an Umbrella policy wouldn’t be enacted until all other liability policy limits have been reached.
